Mahindra Thar now gets a panoramic sunroof! Meet the new ROCKSS Star Edition, launched from ₹16.85 Lakh.
Mahindra & Mahindra has officially launched the Thar ROCKSS Star Edition in India. Its starting price is Rs. 16.85 lakh (ex-showroom) for the diesel-manual model. This special edition offers improved style and many premium features.
The Thar ROCKSS Star Edition has several new exterior updates compared to the regular model. It gets a piano black front grille for a bold look, and 19-inch piano black alloy wheels. Mahindra has also introduced a new colour for this edition called Citrine Yellow, available alongside existing colours like Tango Red, Everest White, and Stealth Black.
Inside, the cabin has a darker, more premium look. The Star Edition gets all-black leatherette seats with suede accents. The dashboard has two 10.25-inch digital screens - one for the touchscreen infotainment system and one for the fully digital instrument cluster. This edition also comes with a panoramic sunroof.
Feature-wise, it gets the AdrenoX connected car technology with 83 connected features. Other key features include wired and wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 360-degree surround view camera, and a 9-speaker Harman Kardon premium audio system.
Engine options remain the same. The Thar ROCKSS Star Edition is available with the familiar 2.0-litre mStallion TGDi petrol engine (130 kW / 380 Nm) and the 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engine (128.6 kW / 400 Nm). Both engines come with a choice of a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission, and are only available in a rear-wheel-drive configuration.
Designed for a 5-star India NCAP rating, its standard safety features include six airbags, a tyre pressure monitoring system, front & rear parking sensors, a rear parking camera, an auto-dimming IRVM, impact-sensing auto door unlock, an immobilizer, and e-call with SOS functionality.Regarding prices, the petrol-automatic variant is priced at Rs. 17.85 lakh and the diesel-automatic at Rs. 18.35 lakh. The price for the petrol-manual variant has not been announced yet.
