Toyota has officially teased its first electric SUV for India, the Urban Cruiser EV, ahead of its debut on January 19, 2026. Based on the Maruti e Vitara, the electric SUV gets a sharp new front design, LED lighting signature, and a dedicated EV platform.
The Urban Cruiser EV is expected to offer 49kWh and 61kWh battery options, with a claimed range of up to 500km+. Key highlights are likely to include dual 10.25-inch screens, connected tech, and an ADAS safety suite.
Once launched, it will rival the Tata Nexon EV and Mahindra XUV 3XO EV, marking Toyota’s official entry into India’s mass-market EV space.
